Akemi Fujimori is a multifaceted artist based in Paris, embodying a unique blend of musical talent and modeling prowess. Born to Japanese and Belgian parents in the French capital, Akemi's musical journey began at the tender age of five with piano lessons. As she grew, her passion for music expanded, leading her to master various instruments including bass, drums, guitar, and vocals.

Marie Bäumer is a renowned German actress who has achieved great success both on stage and in film and television. She became widely known to the public through her roles in films such as "3 Days in Quiberon," for which she received the German Film Award for Best Actress in 2019.

In 2018, Marie fulfilled her heartfelt wish and founded Atelier Escapade. She developed a unique concept for personal development, combining her experiences as an actress with innovative methods such as her work with horses. Marie's warm personality has always inspired me.

Akemi's musical versatility is evident in her diverse career. She performs regularly in Parisian jazz clubs, such as the Jazz Club Étoile, both as a solo artist and as part of ensembles like "Inner Tamer." Her talents have also led her to tour with an impressive roster of artists, including Prudence, Victor Solf, Isabel Sörling, Kutu, Lola Le Lann, Naive New Beaters, and Soko. When not on tour, Akemi dedicates her time to studio work, crafting songs and honing her production skills.


In addition to her live performances and studio work, Akemi is one half of the electronic music duo "dismaze," alongside Léa.

Akemi: 

I started music at age 5 playing piano, then learned bass, drums, guitar and singing as a teenager.
I also started producing electronic music with my duo project dismaze.

ABOUT AKEMI

Clémentine : Mermaids is about a way of inhabiting the world. I have spent so much time trying to enter social boxes before I finally, step by step, authorised myself to behave the way I feel. Mermaids is about normalizing being yourself where you are neither exactly fit for society nor total rebel. It is about how to find your place where you are in the middle. In-between cultures, way of living, social statuts, political consciousness.
